Last June, the city of Pittsburgh launched the “Cool Roofs Program” to repaint the roofs of 10 city-owned structures with reflective white paint to make them more energy efficient. The method of using light-colored roofing materials to reduce energy costs is something that reputable Pittsburgh roofing companies already practice, although this is the first time that the local government initiated a large-scale program.
